About the client

Gerber Life Insurance operates across a large portfolio of policy and customer systems built up over decades. That history left critical data spread across more than 20 federated systems that did not talk to each other.

Challenge

Critical data trapped across more than 20 disconnected systems.

Customer, policy, and behavioral data lived in over 20 federated systems. Without a unified view, the business could not see patterns across the portfolio or act on them, and the cost of operating that many systems kept climbing.

What we built

A cloud data lake on Azure that unified the federated systems into one foundation, migrating more than 3 billion records in six months. A machine-learning rules layer sat on top to link commonalities across the backend, surface data trends and operational redundancy, and identify customer-acquisition discount opportunities from known behavior patterns. The result was a 40% reduction in platform operating cost, 50% faster processing, and $9M in increased revenue from sales and retention.

Results

3 billion-plus records migrated in six months. Operating cost 40% lower. Processing 50% faster. $9M in increased revenue from sales and retention. One foundation the business could finally act on.
